PCHS VOLLEYBALL

11/12/2009-The Volleyball team lost in the Group AA Region IV Semi-Finals.  Scores were 14-25, 13-25 and 14-25.  This team went the furthest in competition than any other Lady Cougar Volleyball team.  Congratulations on a great accomplishment.

11/10/2009-The volleyball team won in four games.  20-25, 25-19, 25-19, 27-25.  Lizzy Leeper had 17 points and 12 kills.  Kylene Culler had 14 kills and eight blocks.  Casey Bradshaw had 47 assists.  Hannah Helbert had 10 kills.  We now move on to the semi finals at Hidden Valley on Thursday night at 5pm between the Cave Spring/Marion game.  Our record is now 17-6.

11/07/2009-The Lady Cougars won the Piedmont District Tournament against Tunstall in five hard played games.  25-22, 19-25, 10-25, 25-22, 15-11.  The Lady Cougars will host Tazewell on Tuesday at 6pm in first round Region IV Tournament action.  Lizzy Leeper was named to the 2nd team; 1st team honorees:  Casey Bradshaw and Kylene Culler.  Coach Heidi Moore was named Co-Coach of the Year.

11/05/2009-The Lady Cougars won in 4 games to Martinsville in the Piedmont District Tournament semifinals.  17-25, 25-20, 25-18, 25-18.  Kylene Culler had 15 service points, 13 kills, 9 blocks.  Deleigh Barbour 12 kills, 8 blocks.  Lizzy Leeper 11 service points, 11 kills 10 digs.  Casey Bradshaw had 36 assists.  We play on Saturday at 2 pm against Tunstall for the championship at Bassett High School.
 

10/27/2009-The JV volleyball team won in two games.  26-24, 25-21.  Megan Mabery had eight points and six digs; Logan Marin had eight points and five digs; Kendra Hall had seven points, four aces and five assists.  They are 6-14 overall and 5-3 in the district.  The varsity volleyball team lost in five games.  25-16, 25-20, 25-23, 25-12, 15-12.  Hannah Helbert had 17 points and eight kills.  Kylene Culler had nine points, 11 kills, 13 blocks, and 12 digs.  Deleigh Barbour had nine kills and 14 blocks.  Casey Bradsahw had eight points and 32 assists.  They are now 13-7 overall and 4-4 in the district.  Next week starts district tournament play.

10/20/2009-Martinsville:  The JV volleyball team won in three games.  25-14, 22-25, 15-12. Karleigh Wilkinson had 13 points and Logan Martin had 11 points. Briana Steele had four kills.  They are now 5-14 overall and 4-3 in the district.  The varsity volleyball team lost in five games 20-25, 25-20, 25-23, 18-25, 13-15.  Olivia Triplett hadd 12 points and five kills.  Kylene Culler had nine kills and 11 blocks.  Deleigh Barbour had 11 kills and nine blocks.  Casey Bradshaw had 34 assists.  They are now 13-6 overall and 4-3 in the district.  Our next game is Tuesday at home against Tunstall.  It is senior night and our last regular season game.
 

10/15/2009-Magna Vista:  The JV volleyball team lost in two games.  18-25, 19-25.  They are 4-14 overall and 3-3 in the district.  The varsity volleyball team lost in five games. 18-25, 15-25, 25-23, 25-22, 15-17.  Kylene Culler had 11 kills and 14 blocks and Deleigh Barbour had nine kills and five blocks.  Casey Bradshaw had 30 assists.  They are now 13-5 overall and 4-2 in the district.  Next game is Tuesday at Martinsville.

10/13/2009-Bassett:  The JV volleyball team won in two games.  25-23, 25-16.  Logan Martin had eight points, Briana Steele four points and seven kills, Whitney Foley had four kills.  Kendra Hall six assists and two kills.  They are now 4-13 overall and 3-2 in the district.  he Varsity volleyball team won in four games.  21-25, 25-17, 25-18, 25-19.  Kylene Culler had 17 kills and 10 blocks.  Deleigh Barbour seven kills and five blocks.  Lizzy Leeper 13 points and eight kills.  Hannah Helbert 10 points and eight kills.  Casey Bradshaw 12 points and 35 assists.  They are now 13-4 overall and 4-1 in the district.  Next game is at Patrick County against Magna Vista Thursday JV time 5:30

10/06/2009-East Surry, NC:   The JV volleyball team lost in two games.  20-25, 22-25.  Kendra Hall had six service points and Karleigh Wilkinson had six service points.  The varsity volleyball team won in five games.  25-14, 24-26, 28-26, 19-25, 15-11.  Ginna Williams had 15 service points.  Lizzy Leeper had 11 points, 11 kills and 19 digs.  Casey Bradshaw had 10 points and 45 assists.  Kylene Culler had 15 kills and 13 digs.   Olivia Triplett nine points and 11 kills and Hannah Helbert had 12 kills and nine service points.  They are now 12-3 overall and 3-0 in the district.  Their next game is at Tunstall on Thursday.

10/05/2009-Mt. Airy, NC:  The JV volleyball team lost in two games, 6-25, 20-25.  Kendra Hall had five points and Karleigh Wilkinson had four points.  The varsity volleyball team won in three games, 25-17, 25-22, 25-10.  Kylene Culler had 15 points, eight kills and five blocks.  Hannah Helbert had seven points and three kills.  Lizzy Leeper had five points, six kills and 10 digs.  Deleigh Barbour had four kills and three blocks.  They are now 11-3.  Their nex game is Tuesday 10-6 at East Surry.  Game-time is 5pm for JV and varsity to follow.
 

10/01/2009-Martinsville:  The JV volleyball team won in three  games. 25-22, 22-25, 15-13. Kendra Hall had nine aces, eight assists.  Hannah Largen had eight points.  Briana Steele had six kills and Katherine Massey had four kills.  They are now 3-10 overall and 2-1 in the district.  The varsity team won in five games.  25-22, 22-25, 19-25, 25-20, 15-5.  Lizzy Leeper had 18 points and 15 digs.  Kylene Culler had 12 points, 18 kills 14 blocks.  Casey Bradshaw had 11 points and 41 assists.  Hannah Helbert had eight points and 13 kills.  Olivia Triplett had 11 kills.  They are now 10-3 overall and 3-0 in the district.  Next game is Monday at Mt Airy.  JV plays at 5 and varsity to follow.

09/29/2009-Magna Vista:  The JV volleyball team won in two games to Magna Vista, 25-10, 25-14.  Hannah Largen had 12 points and Whitney Foley had 11 points.  They are 1-1 in the district.  The varsity volleyball team won tonight in three games against Magna Vista, 25-19, 25-15, 25-20.  Lizzy Leeper had 13 points and six kills, Hannah Helbert had eight points and eight kills.  Casey Bradshaw had six points and 31 assists.  Kylene Culler had 10 kills and six blocks.  Deleigh Barbour had seven
kills.  They are now 9-3 overall and 2-0 in the district.  Next game is Thursday night at Patrick County against Martinsville.  JV time at 5:30.
 

09/24/2009-Bassett:  The JV volleyball team lost in three games to Bassett.  16-25, 25-18, 7-15.   Kendra Hall had 10 points and five aces.  Ashley Lyon had four points and Karleigh Wilkinson had five points.  Briana Steele had five kills and Katherine Massey had four kills.  They are now 1-10.  The varsity volleyball team won in fou games tonight.  25-14, 15-25, 25-14, 25-17.  Kylene Culler had 15 points, 12 kills and seven blocks.  Hannah Helbert had 10 points, 10 kills, seven digs.  Lizzy Leeper had 12 kills, nine digs.  Casey Bradshaw had 35 assists.  They record is now 8-3  and 1-0 in the district.  Their next game is Tuesday at Magna Vista.
 

09/22/2009-Floyd:  The JV volleyball team lost in three games.  25-27, 25-19, 5-15.  Leading scorers were Logan Martin with nine points and six digs.  Briana Steele had seven points, five aces and two kills.  Kendra Hall had five kills and six assists.  Their record is now 1-9.  The varsity volleyball team beat Floyd in four games.  We lost in five games the first game of the season.  25-23, 25-17, 23-25, 25-16.  Leading scorers were Ginna Williams with 13 points and six digs.  Lizzy Leeper with 13 points, 10 kills and 15 digs.  Hannah Helbert 11 points, 10 aces, 10 kills and eight digs.  Kylene Culler 12 kills, 11 blocks, 10 digs.  Casey Bradshaw had 36 assists.  Their record is now 7-3.

09/21/2009-Chatham:  The JV volleyball team lost in three games. 25-18, 22-25, 11-15. Kendra Hall had 11 points.  The varsity volleyball team won in five games.  25-20, 23-25, 25-10, 18-25, 15-13.  Lizzy Leeper had 19 points, 12 digs, nine kills and four aces.  Casey Bradshaw had 14 points, 38 assists.  Hannah Helbert eight points, eight digs and six kills, Kylene Culler had 13 kills, eight blocks and nine digs.  We are now 6-3 overall and play Floyd tomorrow night at home at 5:30.
 

09/17/2009-Westover Christian: The JV volleyball team lost in two games 14-25, 15-25 to Westover Christian.  The varsity volleyball team won in four games to Westover Christian. Scores 25-14, 25-8, 21-25, 25-20.  Lizzy Leeper had 23 points, 10 kills, and seven aces, Casey Bradshaw had 41 assists, 14 points, six digs;   Olivia Triplett had 17 kills and Kylene Culler had 14 kills, eight blocks and nine digs.  We are now 5-3.  Our next game is Monday Sept 21 at Chatham.

09/10/2009-Mt. Airy:  The JV volleyball team lost in three games 26-24, 18-25, 13-15.  Whitney Foley had 12 points, Karleigh Wilkinson had eight points.  Their record is now 1-6.  The varsity team won in three games, 26-24, 25-18, 25-22.  Ginna Williams had six points, Casey Bradshaw had eight points and 25 assists, seven digs.  Kylene Culler had 13 kills, two blocks and six digs.  Lizzy Leeper had 10
kills and 13 digs.  Their record is now 4-3.  Next game is at Westover Christian next Thursday at 5 pm.

09/08/2009-Dan River:  Patrick County JV volleyball team lost in three games.  18-25, 25-23, 4-15.  Whitney Foley had seven points and two kills.  Logan Martin had seven points. Their record is now 1-5.  The varsity team won in three games.  Scores were 25-13, 25-18, 25-23.  Olivia Triplett had 14 points and four kills.  Hannah Helbert had 12 points, three aces, and six6 kills.  Kylene Culler had ten kills and six digs.  The record is 3-3.  The next games are Thursday at home against Mt. Airy at 5:30.
 

09/01/2009-Dan River:  JV Lady cougars lost in two games; 22-25, 20-25.  Karleigh Wilkinson had seven points and two kills, Logan Martin had four points, four aces.  Whitney Foley had three points and three kills.  Record 1-3.  Varsity won in three games; 25-19, 25-18, 25-21.  Casey Bradshaw had nine points, 24 assists and five kills, Lizzy Leeper had eight points and nine kills, Ginna Williams had seven points and Kylene Culler had four points and 13 kills.  Record 2-2

08/27/2009-Chatham:  JV Volleyball lost 2 out of 3; Varsity won 3-1, and according to one of the players, "We played terrible in the first game and lost pretty bad then came back to win the next three by a lot."  The scores are as follows:  14-25; 25-13; 25-16; 25-15.

08/25/2009-The team lost 25-23, 25-23, 25-21.  Cougar Lizzy Leeper led Patrick County with nine service points and 12 kills. Casey Bradshaw also had nine service points, along with 27 assists and nine digs.  Patrick County (0-2) hosts Chatham at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.  (From Martinsville Bulletin)

08/24/2009-JV volleyball won in three games 16-25, 25-22, 17-15; Kendra Hall had 11 points.  Karleigh Wilkinson had eight points.  Varsity volleyball lost in five games15-25, 25-22, 11-25, 25-19, 14-16. Casey Bradshaw had 13 points and 26 assists.  Kylene Culler had nine points and 12 kills.  Both teams played Floyd.  Next games are Carroll 08/25/2009 @ PCHS at 5:30 pm.
